Nothing but respect: Cincinnati softball coaches and athletes offer shoutouts

Martin, a junior infielder/catcher, was fifth in the Girls Greater Catholic League in hitting (.508) last season. She also ranked third in homers (5) and second in RBI (28) en route to first-team all-conference honors.

This season, Martin is hitting .444 with at least one hit in 14 of 15 contests. She has 16 extra-base hits, including five homers. She helped lead Seton to its first GGCL championship since before 2008. The magic has continued in the playoffs, with No. 15 Seton upsetting No. 3 Milford, 7-6, on May 11 with Martin going 3-for-5 with a double. Seton plays No. 16 Mercy McAuley for a sectional title on Monday
