Daily Announcements

Today is a 3 -bell day with a 1:50 assembly. Juniors and sophomores, make sure you see Mrs. Rowland’s email about ACT test prep during today’s assembly time.  The rest of the week:  tomorrow is a 4-bell; Wednesday is a 3 with a 2:15 dismissal.  Thursday is a 4 and Friday is a 7!

The Aqua Saints competed in the MND Invitational with MND and Mercy McAuley this past Saturday. The saints came out on top with a score of 122. The top scorers were Hailey Wills, Alicia Burke, and Ava Stratmann. Great job this weekend saints!!

Results of last week’s basketball charity event:

Cedar gets 1; Emmits earns 2; Segale gets 3 and O’Connell takes the 4!

Standings are:  Segale is in 4th place with 59 point; Cedar is in 3rd with 69; Emmits is in 2nd with 72 and O’Connell holds onto the lead with 92.

A reminder that tomorrow night’s varsity basketball game against Mercy McAuley is a charity event.  It’s senior night!  So come out and support our Saints and especially our seniors!

Thank you to everyone who filled out the Spirit Day food truck survey!  We’ll update you as soon as we get the trucks booked!

Last Friday was a great start to our car raffle turn-in days!! We have another turn-in day this Friday!! Remember, we need to reach $50,000 as a school to get a half day off after the Super Bowl, but our Bengals are on a roll and we want that full "DEY" off after the Super Bowl!!!! Help us reach that goal of $83,00 by Feb. 3rd to earn the full DEY off. We can do this, ladies!!

Seton Helping Saints will be having a meeting this Wednesday at 7:20 in room 115. We will be making cozy sock cupcakes for a local woman’s homeless shelter. This counts as 30 minutes of service. Hope to see you all there!

Tomorrow, January 24th we will once again have the opportunity to attend Mass before school in the chapel.

Fr. Scott Morgan will be here to celebrate Mass for us beginning at 7:15am.  Just like our Rosary services, if you are running late or need to leave early, that is ok!  Mass should conclude before you need to be in mentor group.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!

Today in athletics:

Varsity and JV Bowling take on the Mercy McAuley Wolves at Stumps Lanes beginning at 4:00

All 3 basketball teams play Mercy McAuley at home tonight.  Freshmen at 4:30; JV at 6:00 and varsity at 7:30.  It is senior night and the varsity game is a charity event!  Come out and support your senior basketball players!  And earn points for your house!

Saints, this is a reminder that anyone who sold at least 4 car raffle chances by last Friday’s turn-in day is automatically entered for the duration of the car raffle to play the Wednesday Spin to Win Wheel in the Halo Cafe. One winner will be chosen per lunch bell on Wednesday to spin the wheel and win an awesome prize!!! If you sell 4 car raffle chances by this Friday, you will be entered for a chance to win next week as well as for the rest of the duration of the car raffle. So the earlier you sell those chances, the more opportunities you have for your name to be drawn to Spin to Win!!

Today in athletics:

No athletic teams in action today, but a reminder that tomorrow’s bowling match against MND at Western Bowl at 4:00 is a charity event!

We will be collecting plastic bags and other plastic packaging next Tuesday.  If you bring in plastic to donate, you can be out of uniform that day!  Watch your email for more info later this week.

Fashion club is having a meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 in mrs metz room. We will be making moodboards of our current favorite fashion trends or pieces and will be sharing with the group. Hope to you see you all there.

Congratulations to the JV and Varsity Basketball Saints who took the wins over Mercy McAuley on Tuesday night!

Our Basketball Saints are up for Enquirer Team of the Week!  Vote for them using the link sent out by Kylie on Tuesday.  You can vote until 5:00 tomorrow!

Results of Tuesday night’s basketball charity event:  Emmits gets 1 point; Segale, 2; Cedar earns 3 and O’Connell gets 4.

Current standings:  Segale has 61 points; Cedar has 72;  Emmits is ahead of Cedar by 1 point with 72; and O’Connell has 96.

You have two more athletic opportunities during the winter sports season to help pick up points for your house:  the swim meet on January 29 and the bowling match on February 15.  Plan ahead!

Medical Club and Animal Welfare Club will be having a joint meeting tomorrow before school at 7:20 am in room 312. The guest speaker will be Taylor Pitchford, who will be discussing Ohio State’s Animal Sciences program and Veterinarian School.

The Seton Helping Saints meeting scheduled for yesterday has been rescheduled to next Wednesday, February 1. Please join us to make cozy cupcake socks for a local women’s shelter. We will still be in room 115 at 7:20 a.m. We can’t wait to see you there!

Come join us for our Friday Rosary service tomorrow!  Senior Marlie Berger will be leading our rosary service in the chapel, beginning at 7:25am.  It’s never a big deal if you are running late or have to leave early, so please consider joining us and bringing your prayers before our Blessed Mother.  All are welcome as always!

Due to a few schedule updates, we are moving Friday’s car raffle turn-in day to this MONDAY, January 30. There will NOT be a car raffle turn-in day tomorrow, Friday, January 27. Please use the extra time over weekend and during those Bengals parties to sell your car raffle chances!!!!!

And remember, if you earned out of uniform for today, please make sure the button you received in Mentor Group is clearly visible on you or your name tag. We will also see you during lunch bells today for the first round of Spin to Win – 3 lucky winners will be spinning the wheel to win awesome prizes!!!

For this week’s Bengals activity:  tomorrow, there will be 9 (get the significance of that number???) paper Bengals’ helmets hidden around school.  Each helmet will be numbered.  Each student will receive an email that includes an “answer sheet” with 9 numbered items.  There will be directions for how to participate in this helmet scavenger hunt and how prizes will be awarded.  Have fun!

On Wednesday the aqua saints competed in GGCLs. They came 4th overall with top scorers of Hailey Wills, Alicia Burke, and Laney Carroll. Great job saints!

This weekend’s events: 

Tomorrow, JV and Varsity dance participate in the Mt. Notre Dame competition

The dive team participates in the GGCL Meet at the University of Cincinnati Natatorium beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Break a leg to the music students participating in OMEA (pronounced Oh-em-ee-ay) Solo and Ensemble competition at Anderson High School this weekend! We know you’ll make us proud and do a great job..

On Sunday, the swim team meets Taylor at the Keating Natatorium beginning at 1:00.  It’s senior night and a charity event!  Make plans to support your Aqua Saints and earn points for your house!

Wednesday February 1, French Club is making crêpes!  Crêpes can be picked up in the Halo Café between 7:15-7:55. Crêpes are $2 each, with an additional $0.25 per topping. payment is due when you pick your crepe up! Thank you for supporting the french club!  See Ella Vatter’s email to sign up!
