St. Elizabeth Ann Seton had the gift of friendship. She was supported and shaped by positive friends. One of her secrets to being a good friend is that she let her friends know how much she appreciated them for who they were. She was very loyal, kindhearted, and made important connections, particularly spiritual ones with her friends.
Essay Question:
As you enter into high school, you will meet many new people who will become your friends. What are the qualities of a good friend? Explain a time in your life when your were either positively supported and shaped by a friend, or when you were a good friend to someone else.
Essay Format:
One page, double spaced, 1 inch margins, 11 pt Times New Roman font answering the question. Please include your full name at the top of the essay.

Eighth grade students may be nominated for this scholarship by a grade school teachers or principals.
One-year $1,250 scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors. This scholarship recognizes students who exemplify the true meaning of the Seton Sisterhood, are true supporters of Seton or show their school spirit with pride. Recipients are nominated by teachers or principals.

One-year $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman from Our Lady of Victory who exemplifies Christian leadership and service as evident by Seton Admissions Scholarship essay response.
One-year $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman from one of the following schools: St. Antoninus, Our Lady of the Visitation, St. Teresa, Our Lady of Lourdes or St. Bernard who exemplifies Christian leadership and service as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response and maintains an overall B average in grade school.
One-year $1,000 scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman from one of the following schools: St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. James, St. John Dry Ridge or St. John Harrison who exemplifies Chrisitan leadership and values the Seton experience and the importance of supporting the Seton sisterhood.
One-year, $1,200 tuition assistance scholarship awarded to student who is involved in drama or the performing arts and plans to participate in the productions at Seton. The Seton administration will select the benefactor based on the admissions essay and verified financial need from FACTS, a third-party tuition and financial aid management company.
One-year $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman from St. Dominic who is involved at school, works to her potential, is a Christian leader and values Catholic education.
Four-year renewable $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to incoming Seton freshman students joining the Elder Beginning Band, Marching Band or Color Guard. The scholarships will be renewed each year provided the students stay in the Beginning Band, Marching Band or Color Guard.

Four-year full-ride tuition scholarship will be awarded to incoming freshman student who is devoted to her Catholic faith, involved in her parish and school, and values the mission of Seton High School.
Seton provides a challenging Catholic education rooted in the values and traditions of the Sisters of Charity. Admission to Seton is highly competitive, we encourage all applicants to submit the scholarship essay. Seton does not accept letters of recommendation.
An admissions committee thoroughly reviews every record in detail, 6th, 7th and 8th grade report cards, attendance records, discipline records, High School Placement Test scores, scholarship essay response and IEP/ISP or school accommodation plan if applicable.
