Seton High School Announces New Athletics Leadership Ahead of Historic Sports Complex Opening

CINCINNATI, OHIO – May 7, 2026 – As construction continues on the highly anticipated Seton Sports Complex (the SC), Seton High School today announced two key leadership appointments that will help guide the future of its athletics program ahead of the facility’s opening this fall.

Seton has named Cindy Busse as Director of Athletics Administration and Jen Meiners as Manager of the SC, establishing an expanded leadership structure designed to support the school’s evolving athletics program and maximize the opportunities presented by the new $16 million complex.

“These appointments represent an important step forward as we prepare to open the SC and begin a new chapter for Seton athletics,” said Seton President Kathy Allen Ciarla. “This is a significant moment for our school, and it is essential that we have the leadership in place to steward this investment while cultivating a championship-caliber experience for our student-athletes and supporting the exceptional educational opportunities of our school.”

A Leader with Deep Seton Roots

Most recently serving as Assistant Athletic Director, Busse brings more than two decades of service to Seton’s students and athletics programs. A Certified Athletic Trainer for 21 years, she has spent 20 years at Seton in roles that also have included Head Athletic Trainer and full-time teacher in the Health and PE & Wellness departments. This broad experience has provided her with a unique perspective and deep understanding of the factors that contribute to both competitive success and long-term program sustainability.

“Having served Seton in several roles over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to see firsthand what makes this community special,” Busse shared. “I’m honored to step into this role and excited to help lead Seton athletics into this next chapter, building on our strong tradition while creating new opportunities for student-athletes to thrive.”

As Director of Athletics Administration, Busse will oversee all athletic programming, OHSAA compliance, coach development, student-athlete support and strategic direction for Seton’s sports programs. Her appointment is effective immediately.

Operational Expertise for a Landmark Facility

As Manager of the SC, Meiners will oversee day-to-day facility operations, ensuring the SC functions at the highest level for student-athletes, families and the broader community. She brings extensive experience in facility operations, business development and performance training.

As owner of Meiners Performance Training and a former collegiate athlete at the University of Cincinnati, she built and scaled a performance-based training business from the ground up. Previously, Meiners served as Membership Director at the Mayerson JCC, where she managed a large-scale fitness and community facility serving approximately 2,000 members. Meiners is uniquely qualified to serve as a game-changing resource for student-athletes, creating an environment that supports excellence, growth and development.

A Historic New Era for Seton Athletics

The SC represents a transformational investment in the future of girls’ athletics and will be the first facility of its kind for an all-girls high school in Greater Cincinnati. The state-of-the-art complex will include a turf field for soccer, lacrosse and flag football; tennis and pickleball courts; and an eight-lane track with field event space. Its two-story athletic center will provide student-athletes with premier training facilities, batting tunnels, a golf simulator, locker rooms and more. The luxury suites and press box with broadcasting capabilities underscore that all aspects of competitive athletics were considered in the facility design.

Ciarla added, “Together, these leadership appointments reflect Seton’s commitment to ensuring that this transformative investment is matched by the strategic vision and operational excellence needed to support its success for years to come.”
