Honors Program
Leadership Seminar
Students selected for the Honors Program are required to take an added Leadership Seminar course each year.
This semester course provides the students opportunities to take part in:
- unique workshops
- experiential learning
- college essay writing workshops
- service projects
- life skills training
- career exploration
- and other enrichment activities
Honors Criteria
Admission to the program requires a student to score in the top 15% on the High School Placement Test, demonstrate high academic achievement as evident through 6, 7 and 8 grade report cards as well as Christian leadership and service to others as evident by her admission essay.
During selection all academic records are considered including HSPT test scores, 6, 7 and 8 grade report cards and teacher comments, as well as attendance and discipline records.
As a member of the Honors Program, I am challenged with a rigorous course load that consists of Honors and AP courses. My teachers push me to do my very best by encouraging me to reach my goals and go above and beyond in my studies. I am continuously being prepared for college and beyond. The leadership seminar has taught me skills of communication, problem-solving and commitment.”
