- Prayer Intention: We pray for an increase in vocations to the priesthood and religious life, and we pray for the people who help provide for the education of seminarians.
- Today is the feast Saint Clement Mary Hofbauer. He was born to a poor family in Moravia in 1751. He was the 9th of 12 children. From an early age, he wanted to be a priest, but his family could not afford to pay for his education. He began working as a baker for a monastery, where they let him take Latin classes for free. One day after serving Mass at the local cathedral, he called a carriage for two ladies waiting there in the rain. In their conversation they learned that he could not attend the seminary because he could not afford to pay for it. The ladies generously offered to pay for his education, and he was able to become a priest. He worked to open and orphanage and a school for boys who were poor, and he helped send missionaries to Poland, Germany & Switzerland.

- Prayer Intention: We pray for those who do not know Christ, that they may come to know Him through words and actions. We also ask that you keep Mr. Kohler and his family in your prayers. His grandfather passed away on Monday.
- Today is the feast of Saint Patrick. He has many legends attributed to him, but what we can know for certain is that he was a man of action and effort. He was born in Great Britain in the early 400s. When he was 16, he and several of his father’s slaves were captured by Irish raiders and taken to Ireland. He was held there for 6 years until he escaped. During that time, he had a spiritual conversion. He became a priest and was named a bishop at 43. He very much wanted to bring the Christian faith to the pagan people of Ireland. He went back to Ireland, where he ordained many priests, divided the country into dioceses, held Church councils, founded several monasteries and continually urged his people to greater holiness in Christ. In a short time, much of Ireland had experienced Christianity.
- Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
- Today is 4-bell day, If you get a shamrock from the traveling leprechaun during change of class this morning, use it for a leprechaun shake at the coffee shop or, bonus, 4 cookies of any kind from the Halo!

Juniper was known for his simplicity. One story about Juniper tells of a time when he was caring for a sick man. The man said he was craving a meal of pig’s feet, so Juniper went to a nearby field, captured a pig and cut off its foot to prepare the meal for the sick man. When the owner of the pig complained to Juniper’s superior, Juniper apologized profusely, and then convinced the angry man to donate the rest of the pig to the Franciscan Friars for food.

This forced her to spend an extended period of time at rest to try to combat the effects of the disease. During that time, she began to reflect on her relationship with God, and she felt God was calling her to serve the poor, especially children and the elderly living in the slums of Warsaw, Poland. She and her cousin took vows consecrating themselves to Mary, and began their work. Other women began to join them, and in two years they had formed the congregation known as the Felician Sisters.
