Monday
November 17
- Prayer Intention: As we anticipate Thanksgiving next week, we pray for the strength to follow the example of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary and share what we have with those in need.
- Today is the feast of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. She lived in the early 1200’s. Her father was the King of Hungary, so Elizabeth grew up in a wealthy environment. However, she cared very much for the poor people of their country, so she dressed plainly, lived simply, and took bread to the poor every day. All of this frustrated her family who thought she was wasting the family fortune on the poor.
- Today is a 3-bell day with a 1:45 assembly. Tomorrow is a 4-bell; Wednesday is a 3-bell with a 2:15 dismissal; Thursday is a 4-bell and Friday is a modified 7-bell shadow day.
- The Medical Club is having a meeting tomorrow at 7:15 in the Library! Elizabeth LaTulippe and Angela Aull, both registered nurses at Cincinnati Children's Hospital are coming to talk about everything you need to know about being a registered nurse. All are welcome! Hope to see you there!
- Animal Welfare Club will be having an all-school meeting tomorrow on Tuesday, November 18th! The meeting is in Mrs. Hinker's room (room 332) after school from 2:50-3:50. We will be making blankets for animals in need!
- Seton Helping Saints Board would like to remind everyone that we will be having an all-school meeting THIS Wednesday, November 19, at 7:20 in the library! We will be making bins of snacks and necessities for local Police and Fire Stations!. Please stop by and help us! We hope to see you all there 🙂
- Campus Ministry will be having our next meeting on Thursday, November 20 at 7:20 am in the chapel! We will be doing a service project where we will pack shoeboxes with toys and necessities for children in need. No worries if you are running late or need to leave early, all are welcome! We hope to see you all there! Have a great rest of your weekend!
- Tech club will be having a meeting Thursday, November 20th after school to explore cybersecurity and compete in an escape room with prizes!
- Today is the start of the Seton Helping Saints Thanksgiving Food Drive and Hygiene Items Collection! Please start bringing in your items every day until this Thursday, the 20th, which is the last day. Each Mentor Group has a list of items that they are responsible for working together to bring in! Thank you for all your help in making this holiday a little brighter for so many people in our community!
- We will announce the house winner for the first charity point round at the end of the week! Plan on attending the first charity event of round two this weekend—the Drama Club’s performance of The Mysterious Murder at Manchester Mansion on Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. in the theater. Tickets are $10.

Tuesday
- Prayer Intention: We pray for our fall sports teams, that they will play with courage and grace as they continue to represent our Seton community.
- Today is the feast of Saint Charles Borromeo (bore-oh-MAY-oh. He lived during the mid to late 1500’s and was an important figure in the Council of Trent. During the plague of 1576, he attempted to feed thousands of people each day, borrowing large amounts of money that he would repay on his own.
- Today is a modified 4-bell. Please see Mrs. White’s email for class times. Tomorrow is two-hour delayed start. The doors will open at 9:00 a.m. It is a Monday schedule so classes are 2 – 6 – 4, with a 1:50 assembly. If you are requested to meet with a teacher during this time, it is mandatory.
- If you are riding the bus to the Soccer State Semi-Final tonight, please make sure you have read the email from MR!
- Please note: Bowling tryouts for today are canceled. They will resume as scheduled on tomorrow, Wednesday, November 5.
- Happy French Week!! If you would like to order crepes for breakfast on Friday from 7:15 to 7:55 in the Halo Café, you must fill out the Google form sent by Madame before 7:00 p.m. tonight. Check your email, order your crepe and celebrate French week!
- We announced the French club scavenger hunt a day early!!! So now--Get ready for a fun and cultural adventure during French Week! From today until November 11, the French Club Board will post several artworks around the school. Each artwork will help you answer a question about a famous piece from Le Musée du Louvre in Paris — one of the world’s most famous museums! How It Works · Every school day from November 4–11, look for the picture of a Louvre artwork somewhere in the school. · That picture will help you answer the daily question you’ll receive through Google Form. · Research the artwork to find the correct answer. · Submit your answer through the Google Form for that day. The winner will receive a French Goody Bag filled with fun French treats and surprises! Today’s Clue - Find the world’s most famous smile! / Question: Who painted the Mona Lisa?
- Please note that today’s Animal Welfare Club meeting has been canceled. Watch and listen for the rescheduled date.
- FBLA will be having a meeting on Thursday at 7:20 in the morning. Attendance is mandatory for all members, and non-members are always welcome. We will be talking about our State Leadership Conference, an opportunity in February for medals, scholarships, and recognition. We hope to see you there!
- Great job Saints on the first turn in day for the Halloween Candy Collection. If you forgot your candy today don't worry, you still have tomorrow to turn in. Remember this is a charity event and every piece counts! Keep bringing in your candy! Thank you! As of yesterday afternoon, the number of pounds per house ranged from 50 to 20. Remember—points are on the line! Your house can earn one point for each 10 pounds of candy! With the late start tomorrow, there’s time to get your extra Halloween candy together! The bins are located outside the Halo Café.
- Congratulations to Mrs. Falk’s Mentor Group who is celebrating their special day today for coming in first place for SHS Day!!! The entire Mentor Group enjoyed Graeter’s donuts this morning and received personalized wallets and keychains. Congratulations, Saints!

Wednesday
November 12
- Prayer Intention: We pray that we will be willing to truly listen to others and express our views peacefully when working to address our differences and misunderstandings. We pray that tonight’s Open House helps all our visitors feel welcomed into our Home Sweet Seton.
- Today is the feast of Saint Josaphat. He was an early 17th century bishop in the Orthodox Church who worked to reunite the Orthodox Church with Rome. His efforts were misunderstood by Church leaders on both sides, and Saint Josaphat was killed. His death brought a movement toward Catholicism and unity.
- Today is a modified 3-bell day with a noon dismissal.
- All students working Open House: this is a reminder that you need to be in the MPR by 3:15, looking your best, feeling your best and ready to roll! Park in the Schaeper Center Lot. Carpool if you can. If you are being dropped off, please get dropped off in the Beech Avenue lot. All doors will be open.
- Seton Helping Saints rescheduled all-school meeting will be on Wednesday November 19th at 7:20 in the library! We will be making bins of snacks and necessities for local Police and Fire Stations! Please stop by and help us! We hope to see you all there
- The Seton Helping Saints Thanksgiving Food Drive and Hygiene Items Collection will start this Monday, November 17th and end on Thursday, November 20th. Each Mentor Group has a list of items that they are responsible for working together to bring in! Please start collecting your food items and hygiene products and refer to Josie Depaoli's email for more details. We appreciate all your help to make the holidays just a little brighter for many families in our community!

Thursday
- Today is the feast of St. Rose of Viterbo. She only lived to be 18 years old, but during that time, she cared deeply for the poor. She prayed for them constantly and gave everything she could to help them.
- Prayer Intention: We pray for all those in our world and especially in our community who struggle to make ends meet and ask God to help us provide the necessary resources to help those in need.
- Today is a 4-bell day
- Yesterday, Varsity golf won over Lakota West with a low score of 173 to their 199! The medalist of the match was Zoe DiNovo with a score of 42.
- Attention Varsity Volleyball team – please check your email for a message from Mrs. Schwartz!
- Kenzie’s Closet is having a designer warehouse sale open to the public this Saturday, September 6 from 9:00 until noon at their location on Madison Avenue. All dresses are $20 or less. Watch for an email from an FBLA board member with additional information.
- Tomorrow, all juniors will eat lunch at 10:30 in the Halo Cafe and then proceed directly to their testing rooms at 11 to take a practice ACT. Students will receive their room assignments from Mrs. Anderson so please look for this in your email. There will be no early dismissals for juniors tomorrow.
- Freshman: tomorrow, Z lunch will be moved to the MPR. Pizza, bagged snacks, cookies and drinks will be available for purchase. Or pack your lunch! The Halo Café will not be accessible during your lunch bell!
- There will be an Astronomy Club meeting after school on Tuesday September 9 in Room 114. There will be drinks, snacks, and prizes. All are invited.
- We had a great first Seton Helping Saints meeting with 126 students in attendance!! We assembled 50 baskets for teachers at St. Teresa and St. Willam, thanks to everyone who attended! We can't wait for the rest of this year!
- Saints! We hope you are just as excited as we are to win a Parke sweatshirt OR a long champ bag for our next SHS Day incentive! We will draw one winner for the Parke sweatshirt and one winner for the Longchamp bag! All you have to do is sell ONE more chance as of yesterday, Tuesday September 2nd’s turn-in day. Check your updated sheet in MG to see where you stand and get your chances in!!
- Mentor Groups, you did a fantastic job on your SHS Day tracker displays!! There was a lot of creativity and FUN in your designs!! Great job!!!
- It is time to announce the winners! One winning Mentor Group in each House will receive Busken cookies. The runner-up in each House will receive a small candy treat. Lauren will be in touch about when your prize will be delivered.

- This is a reminder that school pictures will be on TOMORROW! Please refer to the email Mrs. Vanover sent out for your time to get photographed in the Commons. Bring your order form and money to give to the photographer (if you ordered online you do not have to bring anything!) Everyone will need to get photographed for our yearbook and for your school badge.
- Please join us for the rosary tomorrow morning at 7:25 am in the chapel! Junior and Emmits House Chaplain Kendall Goldrainer will lead us in prayer. Our prayer intention this week is that we will be inspired by Blessed (and soon to be Saint) Carlo Acutis and his love for Christ in the Eucharist. No worries if you're running late or need to leave early. Just show up and encourage a friend to come with you!

- JV Tennis takes on Mt. Notre Dame at MND at 4:00
- Varsity A Tennis plays Mt. Notre Dame at 4:00 at the PAC. This is a charity event. Be sure to check your email from our junior house captain with the name of your sign in person! And remember—every sign in earns a point for your house!

- Prayer Intention: We pray that we will always keep God first in our hearts so we will always be ready to help those in need.
- Today is the feast of Saint Didacus. He was a Franciscan friar who lived in the 1400’s. He was known for his generosity toward the poor. The city of San Diego is named in honor of Saint Didacus.
- Today is a modified 4-bell day with a pep rally at 2:00. When it is time to move to the gym for the pep rally, please leave all your belongings in your bell 7 class.
- This is a reminder that tonight is a home Elder playoff football game. All cars must be off campus by 4pm. If you need to stay after 4 p.m. please see Cindy Busse’s email with directions on where to park. Athletics appreciates your cooperation.
- There will be an informational meeting about running Distance Track on Tuesday, 11/11, at 2:55 in Mr. Merk's Room, room 216. Please join for important information about winter conditioning.

- Sophomores—this is a reminder that if you are interested in attending the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference this June, please make sure to get your completed application to Lauren by next Tuesday. If you have any questions, please ask!
- The Astronomy Club will be meeting after school on Tuesday November 11, in Room 114. The theme will be about Artemis, NASA's mission to return to the moon. There will be planetary treats and drinks. All are invited.
- Saints—Please listen. There are State t-shirts for everyone. They will be on tables outside the Halo Café during all three lunch bells today. If you did not get one on Tuesday, there is one for you. Please pick it up today during lunch. MR is asking that you please try to keep the sizes together to make it easier to grab! Then wear it for good luck this weekend—even if you can’t attend the games!
- This is one final reminder—if you attend any game this weekend and DO NOT ride the bus, you will need to send a selfie with the name of the venue in the background. Send it to your school cap. The points are really close right now and every person makes a difference! Take a minute to take that picture and email it!
- This is a charity point update!!!! We’re are current on points through Tuesday night’s soccer game and the Halloween candy collections. Standings are: O’Connell—259 points, Emmits—269 points, Cedar—277 points, Segale—in the lead with 282 points! Only 23 points separate first place from fourth. 23 people over multiple weekend events is not many!!!!! See why we keep saying everybody counts!!!This is still anybody’s game! Don’t forget to send your selfie to your school cap. Email it as soon as you take it and then you don’t have to worry about it!

Bless Our Children (BOC) is a nonprofit organization that helps students participate in enriching extracurricular activities—athletic, spiritual, or educational—through volunteer-based scholarships. Families can earn scholarship funds by volunteering at community events.
