Safe Environment Requirements
All employees, volunteers, coaches, substitute faculty, and contract workers must complete a Safe Parish training session mandated by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. This session, which lasts approximately two hours, outlines key guidelines for the protection of students.
After completing the initial training, participants must stay current by viewing quarterly Safe Parish video bulletins. Failure to remain up-to-date may require retaking the full training course.
Background Screening
Anyone working directly or regularly with students—including employees, substitute faculty, coaches, and volunteers—must complete both BCI and FBI background checks before beginning work. Proof of clearance must be submitted to Seton High School.
- Background checks are required to be renewed every five years.

2025-2026 Spanish Substitute Teacher World Languages Department
Seton High School, an all-girls Catholic high school founded by the Sisters of Charity, seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician that is responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks to ensure a safe, clean, and well-functioning school environment. This role also addresses service requests in a timely manner and supports the daily operations of Seton High School by maintaining building systems, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components, while also assisting with custodial needs and event set-up and tear-down. The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, comfort, and efficiency of the school’s facilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform general repairs to doors, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, and furniture.
- Conduct painting, patching, and minor carpentry projects as needed.
- Maintain exterior grounds, including snow removal, salting, lawn care, and debris removal.
- Assist with event and classroom set-ups, equipment moves, and furniture relocations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Spanish
- Ohio substitute or teaching license
- Proficient knowledge of content area and curriculum
- Effective communication skills
- Understanding of the mission of Seton High School and the Sisters of Charity

Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities
Building & Grounds Maintenance
- Perform general repairs to doors, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, and furniture.

- Assist with event and classroom set-ups, equipment moves, and furniture relocations.
Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing
- Replace light bulbs, ballasts, switches, and outlets as needed.
- Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and report larger issues to Facilities Manager.
- Handle minor plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, and repairing restroom fixtures.
- Monitor HVAC, boiler, and other mechanical systems; assist contractors with service visits.
Safety & Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections of fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting, and safety equipment.
- Support routine testing of fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and other safety systems.
- Ensure school facilities remain free of safety hazards and respond quickly to emergencies.
- Follow all OSHA and school safety standards.
Work Orders & Preventive Maintenance
- Respond promptly to maintenance work orders submitted by faculty, staff or administration.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks on a scheduled basis to extend equipment life.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and report major repair needs.
Candidate Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry systems.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, safety procedures, and equipment manuals.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Must pass background check and comply with all school safety and child-protection (SafeParish) requirements.
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Full-time, year-round position.
- Typical schedule: Monday–Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with occasional evenings, weekends, rotating on-call or emergency call-ins.
- Work involves physical labor, exposure to weather conditions, and use of power tools/equipment.
