Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff,

The year 2020 has been one marked by so much uncertainty and change. It seems the more you plan, the more things change! And that is true as we start the new school year.

We originally planned the first day of school for August 13; but we are pushing the date back. Freshman Orientation and Big/Lil Sis Day will be September 1, 2020 and the first day of school for everyone will be September 2, 2020.

We have received a gift to help add another layer of protection for our students and staff utilizing Plasma Air Units. These state-of-the-art devices will be installed throughout the campus including all classroom VRF units. Utilizing bipolar ionization, the Plasma Air HVAC devices safely and effectively reduce bacteria, viruses, allergens, volatile organic compound and particulate matter.

We are grateful to the donor and appreciate your patience as we delay the start of school to install these devices in every classroom, office and common area.

We are NOT changing the schedule on the following school events:

Freshman Tablet Training Sessions – August 5-7, 2020

Faculty/Staff In-Service Days – August 10-11, 2020

Freshman Welcome Nights – August 10-11, 2020

The schedule for the first week of school will be:

Tuesday, September 1: Freshman Orientation and Big/Lil Sis Day 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

Wednesday, September 2: First Day of School 7 Bell 8:00 a.m. with dismissal starting at 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, September 3: 4 Bell 8:00 a.m. with dismissal starting at 2:30 p.m.

Out of Uniform Day – all students required to bring in one roll of paper towels

Friday, September 4: 3 Bell 8:00 a.m. with dismissal starting at 1:45 p.m.

(no club or other scheduled meetings)

Please note: We will use the August Dismissal Schedule for the month of September.

The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff remain the top priority and we believe this is a good decision to add yet one more layer of protection.

Dear Parents and Class of 2024,

This is a reminder that tablet training days are August 5, 6 and 7. Morning session runs 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and the afternoon session runs from noon to 3:00 p.m. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled session. Students will be in groups of approximately 10 for the training sessions.

Students should be dropped off at the main entrance in the Beech parking lot. All students will need to wear a mask upon entering the building and during the training. At the conclusion of the session, students will leave with their tablet and charger. We encourage students to keep their tablet in a safe place and to spend some time getting familiar with what they will learn during their training.

If you have questions, please contact the main office at 471-2600 and someone will assist you.

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff,

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year! We are sure it will be another historic year! With the support and prayers of the Seton community, we will continue to work diligently to provide our students with an exceptional Seton experience. We know it will look a little different but our commitment is laser focused. We have been working all summer to make sure the values of our faith combined with an optimal academic program can meet any challenge we face this year. And in the words of our patroness (which we have repeated constantly this summer) we will “Do our Best and Leave the Rest to God” – Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.

As we reopen Seton High School, the health and safety of our students, faculty and staff is paramount. Earlier this summer, we assembled a Reopening Team comprised of the administration, doctors, board members, teachers, parents, school nurse, security team and staff members to review, study and determine the best plan for our 2020-2021 school year.

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, “continuing to keep children physically out of school could have long-term detrimental effects on academic progress, mental and emotional well-being and behavior.” The CDC is also recommending students return to in-person instruction and we are confident with the plan we have to move forward to reopen our school.

Utilizing the guidelines given to us by the Ohio Department of Health, the Ohio Department of Education and the CDC, we have done extensive research and have worked tirelessly to reopen Seton in the safest manner possible. We are blessed to have the physical space on campus to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and the ability to implement all the necessary layers of protection and procedures to reopen our school five days a week with in-person instruction.

We will need everyone’s cooperation as we work through these unprecedented times and provide our students with an exceptional Catholic education. This plan has been approved by the Seton Administration and the Board of Directors. We are grateful to everyone for their incredible work and dedication on this reopening plan.

We understand this is a very challenging time and students and parents may be uncomfortable returning to school. With that in mind, we are also offering a remote learning option for those who do not wish to return to in-person instruction. We respect that this is a very personal choice and are committed to helping each student during this challenging time.

As we have all experienced with COVID-19, this is a fluid situation and subject to change. We will alert you as soon as possible if and when we need to make changes to the daily school schedule and plan. We appreciate your patience and understanding and are truly grateful for all the kind words, emails and support the Seton family has shown us over the past six months. Thank you!

In order to return to school, we need all students and parents to read through the plan and click on the link at the end to fill out the COVID-19 Return Form. This form is due back to Seton by AUGUST 1, 2020.

We continue to pray for an end to this pandemic and for those affected by COVID-19, and we keep all the front line workers in our prayers as well. We ask for your continued prayers as we work through these challenging times.

We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to Seton. We have missed them! Thank you for sharing your daughters with us.

COVID-19 Return Form - Due 8/1/2020

 

 

Dear Class of 2024 and Parents,

We are so excited to officially welcome you to the Seton family at the Class of 2024 Freshman Welcome Nights!

We have designed the event to personally welcome you and your parents to the Seton family! You will meet your Mentor Teacher and classmates, receive your official St. Elizabeth Ann Seton pin in the beautiful Seton Chapel and a blessing on your high school experience. We will take photographs of you, your parents and your new classmates to commemorate your first official high school event.

Details of the Event:

  • Using the chart below, please arrive at Seton at your assigned day/time listed for your Mentor Teacher. Recommended attire: dresses, skirts and dress pants.
  • Please park in the Beech Avenue parking lot at the corner of Glenway and Beech Avenues and enter the Main Entrance. Please enter the building promptly at your scheduled time as we cannot accommodate late arrivals.
  • All visitors will have their temperature checked at arrival and masks are required. We ask that you remember to adhere to social distancing.
  • Due to COVID-19 restrictions, no more than two parents per student will be admitted.
  • The Spirit Wear Shop will be open if you need to purchase uniform shirts or other Seton swag.
  • We will finish the event with a few Seton surprises for you! You can plan on being at Seton for about one hour.
  • If you are sick or have a fever, please stay home. If you are unable to attend, email Lauren Ulmer at ulmerl@setoncincinnati.org.

Your safety is extremely important to us and every precaution has been made to keep you safe while celebrating this special night. We appreciate your cooperation.
