Seton Walk 2020 ~ Walking on (Virtual) Sunshine

Join us for the 2020 Seton Virtual Walk!  Go the “social” distance for our Saints by registering today for the Walk or donating to help our students!

How does the Virtual Walk work?

The Walk is a real 5k but on your terms!  Get your family, friends and Seton sisters to join you for a Walk at your favorite park or in your neighborhood.  Or jump on your treadmill and workout for Seton.  You choose the day and the way and it all benefits the Saints!  The cost is $25 per person and includes a t-shirt. You can walk anytime now until November 8, 2020.  Click below to register. T-shirts will be available for pick-up at Seton’s Main Office beginning Tuesday, November 3.

I want to donate and help Seton students!

Great!  Sponsorships are available!  Donate $200 and have your name or business featured on the back of the official Walk t-shirt. Register by October 16 to be included on the t-shirt.

Or sponsor a student for the Walk – all gifts make a difference and will help Seton reach the goal of $65,000.  Click HERE to sponsor a student!

Thank you for your support!  Proceeds from the Walk support the general operating budget to help keep tuition costs down and also benefit the student philanthropic club, Seton Helping Saints, which provides assistance to students, alumnae and community members in need.

Be sure to send us your selfies or Walk photos to ulmerl@setoncincinnati.org so we can feature them in our promotions!  Thanks for all your support of Seton!

Dear Heavenly Father,

On this day we remember September 11, 2001. Please bring comfort and peace to those who lost loved ones and to all who were affected by the events of this day. We also pray for the many brave men and women who courageously worked day and night to help rescue the lost and bring aid to the wounded, and to those who continue to serve today. Lord, wrap your loving arms around our nation as we heal, and empower us to always treat others with compassion, kindness and respect.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, pray for us. Amen.

Dear Alumnae, Parents and Friends of Seton,

Never have we been so excited to welcome the students to a new school year!  Although the year may look a little different, this virus cannot change our core!  We are committed to providing our students with an exceptional Catholic education rooted in the values and traditions of the Sisters of Charity.

The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff remain our priority.  We have put several layers of protection in place so we can have a productive and successful school year.  In addition to wearing masks, social distancing, electronic temperature checks, hand washing often, one-way stairwells and staggered lunch and dismissal times, we have received a gift to add yet another layer of protection for our students and staff utilizing Plasma Air Units. These state-of-the-art devices have been installed throughout the campus including all classroom VRF units. Utilizing bipolar ionization, the Plasma Air HVAC devices safely and effectively reduce bacteria, viruses, allergens, volatile organic compound and particulate matter. We are grateful to the anonymous donor for this generous gift allowing us to provide additional layers of protection for our students, faculty and staff.

And while we spent the vast majority of the summer preparing for this school year, construction crews were on campus renovating the auditorium and gymnasium. The auditorium received major aesthetic and technology updates including stage and house lighting equipped with LED and color-changing lights, stage rigging such as backdrops, flys and a vibrant, green house curtain, flexible and professional presentation tools including a projector and projection screen, new carpet, wall-coverings and paint as well as updated aisle and seat lighting. In addition to these amazing upgrades, we have acquired an online streaming system to utilize among the student body and mentor groups for use during assemblies and performances that includes a professional camera and audio connectivity.

The gym floor was redesigned, repainted and completed with a wax coating. There were also several repairs made to the roof for an enhanced weather-proof finish. Our students and staff will greatly benefit from all of these upgrades around campus. Thank you for all of your prayers and generous support. We are grateful to all the donors of Seton 360!

As we complete the second week of school, students are working diligently in the classrooms, fall sports teams are doing very well, students are engaged in club and extracurricular activities and seniors are starting the college selection process! We continue to be inspired by the students and grateful to the faculty and staff for adapting and working so hard to fulfill our mission of excellence in Catholic education.

We know these are challenging times and the unknown can be stressful.  We ask God to bless us with grace, courage and a positive attitude as we deal with obstacles and situations never before encountered.  We ask for your prayers, support and respect and we place our faith in our Lord to see us through this school year.  And the words of our patroness inspire us: “Meet your Grace.  Do your best and leave the rest to God.”

Gratefully,

Dear Students, Parents, Faculty, Staff and Alumnae,

This week OHSAA’s guidelines for fall sports were approved by Governor Mike DeWine. This is great news for our student-athletes who will now have a chance to participate in the sport they love. However, in an effort to keep everyone safe, the guidelines greatly reduce the number of fans permitted to attend the games.

We are working to stream our home fall sports competitions and with YOUR HELP we can make this happen so all our students, families and fans can watch our teams and cheer on the Saints. We are starting with home Volleyball games that begin tomorrow, Saturday August 22.

We are asking everyone to follow these two simple steps to help our Saints:

  1. Click on this link https://m.youtube.com/user/SetonCincy
  2. Hit the “Subscribe” button on the Seton YouTube Channel.

If we get 1,000 plus subscribers we can improve our platform for a better viewing experience for everyone!

Please forward this on to your family and friends who can help our Saints make the most of their season.

We are grateful for your support and ask for your continued prayers as we prepare to begin a new school year!

Go Saints!

Dear Setonsation sponsors, guests and volunteers,

As you know, due to the unprecedented events taking place in our world in response to the coronavirus, we made the difficult decision to cancel Setonsation. We were very hopeful that we would be able to reschedule this event over the summer months, but this is just not possible.

Given the reality that Setonsation is our largest fundraiser of the year, we hope you prayerfully consider transitioning your reservation or sponsorship fee to a full donation to help us fund the mission of Seton High School. Many of our Seton families are being faced with hardships during this difficult time and this donation will greatly help provide much needed tuition funds. In exchange for this donation, we will provide you with a tax letter, an early-bird Setonsation 2021 reservation opportunity, recognition in our Annual Report and a special drawing for a $500 tuition credit or $500 in cash. Thank you so much for your consideration.

We also understand that these circumstances are very difficult for many, and we can provide a refund of those fees if you choose. Please contact Noelle Schwartz at schwartzn@setoncincinnati.org by August 5, 2020 if you would like to initiate that refund. Keep in mind that we have limited access to the building at this time and this process might take a bit longer than usual.

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers and patience as we navigate through these challenging times. We greatly appreciate your support and understanding.
