The Ohio High School Athletic Association girls lacrosse regular season begins on Friday.
Since being sanctioned as an OHSAA sport in 2017, Greater Cincinnati has combined for three state girls lacrosse championships. Mariemont is the lone two-time title winner (2018, 2021) while Indian Hill was the first area girls program to take the crown back in 2017.
Who are the top girls lacrosse players to see on the field this spring? Here's a conference-by-conference breakdown of the top prospects.
Taylor Bieber, Ursuline: The senior was top 15 in the GGCL last season in both ground balls (42) and draw controls (34). She was also second in interceptions (5).
Aly Young, Seton: Young finished tied for second in the GGCL with 69 goals last season. She was also fifth in assists (18) and totaled 34 ground balls.
Kate Sullivan, St. Ursula: The junior was fourth in the GGCL in draw controls (70) and eighth in goals (46) last season.
Lucy Sander, MND: Sander was sixth in the GGCL last season in goals (55), second in ground balls (61) and sixth in draw controls (53).
Brynna Hall, St. Ursula: The goalie registered 149 saves last season for the Bulldogs and caused 14 turnovers.
Sophie Canter, St. Ursula: The senior was fifth in the GGCL in draw controls (62) and seventh in goals (53) to go with 23 ground balls, 10 assists and 11 caused turnovers.
Faith Sellet, Seton: As a freshman last season, Sellet was tied for second in the GGCL in goals (69) and led the league in draw controls (89). She also had 11 assists, 10 caused turnovers and a pair of interceptions.
Lilly Finamore, Mercy McAuley: As a sophomore last season, Finamore led the GGCL with 82 ground balls. She also had 22 draw controls and caused 16 turnovers.
