St. Elizabeth Ann Seton accomplished extraordinary things during her life. However, she didn’t accomplish any of them in a single day. Rather, it was the accumulation of a lifetime of ordinary days lived well which shaped her impact on the world. Her spirit of faith, service and leadership, in the ordinary moments made a large impact.

Essay Prompt: Describe an ordinary day in your life in which the Spirit of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton positively impacted you or in which positively impacted someone else.

Essay Format: Each student applying for scholarships to Seton High School is required to write an essay no more than one page, double spaced,1 inch margins, 11 pt Times New Roman font answering the question.

This highly-competitive program recognizes students for exceptional academic achievement, Christian leadership and service to others. Candidates will be chosen by a selection committee based on:

  • Score in the top 15% on the HSPT
  • Cumulative average of 85% or higher and no grade below a 78% on a report card
  • Academic achievement, Christian leadership and service to others as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response

Candidates will be chosen by a selection committee based on:

  • Score in the top 25% on the HSPT
  • Academic achievement, Christian leadership and service to others as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response

The candidate will be chosen from the incoming freshmen by a selection committee based on:

  • Demonstrate good academic standing, Christian leadership and service to others as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response
  • Qualify for financial assistance verified through FACTS application

Four-year renewable need-based scholarships. Candidates will be chosen by a selection committee based on:

  • School spirit, leadership and service to others as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response
  • Verified FACTS Application

Four-year scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshmen funded through the support of our amazing Alumnae! Candidates will be chosen by a selection committee based on:

  • School spirit, leadership and service to others as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response

Eighth grade students may be nominated for this scholarship by a grade school teachers or principals.

One-year $1,250 scholarships will be awarded to incoming freshmen ’28, sophomores ’27, juniors ’26 and seniors ’25. This scholarship recognizes students who exemplify the true meaning of the Seton Sisterhood, are true supporters of Seton or show their school spirit with pride. Recipients are nominated by teachers or principals.

Criteria:

  • Involvement in school organizations, clubs and/or sports
  • Working to their ability academically, maintaining no grade lower than a C average
  • Does not receive financial aid or other scholarships (verified by Seton)

Nominations: Current 8th grade students can be nominated by grade school teachers and principals.

One-year $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman from Our Lady of Victory who exemplifies Christian leadership and service as evident by Seton Admissions Scholarship essay response.

One-year $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman from one of the following schools: St. Antoninus, Our Lady of the Visitation, St. Teresa, St. Martin, Our Lady of Lourdes or St. Bernard who exemplifies Christian leadership and service as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response and maintains an overall B average in grade school.

One-year $1,000 scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman from St. Dominic who is involved at school, works to her potential, is a Christian leader and values Catholic education.

Four renewable $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to incoming Seton freshman students joining the Elder Beginning Band, Marching Band or Color Guard. The scholarships will be renewed each year provided the students stay in the Beginning Band, Marching Band or Color Guard.

One-year $1,000 tuition assistance scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman student from St. William, St. Lawrence, Holy Family or St. Teresa who exemplifies Christian leadership and service as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response.

One-year $1,000 tuition assistance scholarship awarded to an incoming freshman student from a Price Hill catholic grade school who exemplifies Christian leadership and service as evident by the Admission Scholarship essay response.

Seton provides a challenging Catholic education rooted in the values and traditions of the Sisters of Charity. Admission to Seton is highly competitive, we encourage all applicants to submit the scholarship essay. Seton does not accept letters of recommendation.

An admissions committee thoroughly reviews every record in detail, 6th, 7th and 8th grade report cards, attendance records, discipline records, High School Placement Test scores, scholarship essay response and IEP/ISP or school accommodation plan if applicable.
